Visit Petoskey and the Bay View Community, a residential area on beautiful Little

50 mile drive to Traverse City, one of northern Michigan's most scenic stretches
and enjoy a two hour Tall Ship sail in the Bay. A visit to Sleeping Bear Dunes National
Lakeshore where you will take in breathtaking views of Lake Michigan, this Lakeshore
won the title of "Good Morning America's" Most Beautiful Place in America,
which is one of the nation's best-kept secrets. You will be in awe of the monumental
sand dunes from which it gets its name. This tour is jam packed with great food

Day One - Sunday, August 26
Depart for Holland, Michigan. Enjoy a relaxing Dinner Cruise tonight
for 2 hours on the Holland Princess.
This 65' Victorian style paddle-wheel river boat cruises through beautiful Lake
Macatawa and Lake Michigan and past the BIG RED lighthouse. Pass by picturesque
lake homes, historic land marks, and nature at its best, while you enjoy a delicious
Day Two - Monday, August 27
Breakfast included Travel to the pretty resort town of Petoskey, where
you will have free time to explore on your own. They have a nice compact and walkable
Gaslight District for shopping and places to enjoy lunch. Meet your coach and step
on guide this afternoon for a 90 minute guided city tour of Petoskey
and the beautiful Bay Harbor area. Included in your tour is the historic Bay View
Community, a residential area on beautiful Little Traverse Bay. It has been named
one of the "Prettiest Painted Places in America". The Victorian 'cottages' are seasonal
residences only from May to October. In 1988, Bay View's 440 cottages were designated
as a National Historic Landmark. Many of these historic homes are still occupied
in the summertime by descendants of the founding families.
Check in to the Perry Hotel in downtown Petoskey. Built in 1899 as one of
some twenty original luxury resort hotels, Stafford's Perry Hotel is the only one
still in operation. Experience the grandeur and elegance of a by-gone era without
leaving modern day conveniences behind. The hotel is right in the downtown in the
Gaslight District, for shopping and dining. You may want to take some more time
to explore this area before dinner.
6:30pm Dinner included tonight at the hotel. The hotel will usually have
a staff member or historian visit the group to talk briefly about the history of
Day Three - Tuesday, August 28
Buffet Breakfast at the hotel. Depart and travel the 50-mile drive between
Petoskey and Traverse City - its noted as one of northern Michigan's most
scenic stretches. Varicolored cottages, views of the Bay, and quaint cherry orchards
are a few of the things that you'll see along this route. Stop at a Cherry Orchard,
where their roadside stands are chocked full of fresh bounty from the area.
Tour the Music House Museum - featuring an extensive collection of fine and
rare antiques and automated musical instruments in period American settings. The
gem of the collection is a magnificent 97-key Mortier dance organ built in Antwerp
in 1922. Lunch on own in downtown Traverse City.
Enjoy a two hour Tall Ship sail in the Bay. Take a unique adventure back
in time as you discover the beauty of Grand Traverse Bay, Michigan from the deck
of this majestic sailing vessel.
In Traverse City, check in to your AAA rated, 3 Diamond hotel. Country Inn
& Suites with indoor pool.
6:00pm Tonight, enjoy dinner included on the waterfront. A delicious gourmet
meal will include your choice upon seating of two entrees, starter, dessert and
Day Four - Wednesday, August 29
Deluxe Continental Breakfast with hot and cold items included at the hotel.
Guided tour of the area….Arrive in Empire, at Sleeping Bear Dunes National
Lakeshore, begin at the Visitor's Center (watch an introductory video).
Then wind through 7.4 miles of dunes, woods, and breathtaking views of Lake Michigan
on Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive. You may want to try climbing one of the dunes!
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, won the title of "Good Morning America's"
Most Beautiful Place in America. Tens of thousands of viewers voted online for this
Michigan park, which is one of the nation's best-kept secrets. The hidden gem boasts
64 miles of beaches along Lake Michigan, two islands, 26 inland lakes, more than
50,000 acres of land, and the monumental sand dunes from which it gets its name.
Visit The Cherry Republic, the largest cherry store in the world. Strangely
beautiful, delicious and eccentric, rustic and friendly, rooted in the region's
bounty…The main store is the primary sampling, shopping and gift giving station.
You may want to try a delicious Boom Chunka cookie and a coffee. Stock up on everything
from jams to salsas to chocolates and more. With your guide, depart for the beautiful
and pristine Leelanau Peninsula. Half hour drive. Leland is a picturesque
little village so uncommon and charming, you will be mesmerized with its beauty
and amenities. Leland is a great "walking around" town. Enjoy lunch on your own
here. All of the shops, restaurants, galleries, and museums are located within a
short distance. Free time to browse the shops on your own. Leland's historical
district, known as Fishtown, features rustic shanties and docks reminiscent
of life and commercial fishing one hundred years ago. Today, galleries and unique
shops fill their walls.
In Northport, guests can choose to go up to the top of the Grand Traverse Lighthouse…
Located inside the Leelanau State Park, the Lighthouse has been guiding ships
and sailors since it was built in 1858. Lighthouse fee is not included, but nominal
if anyone is interested in going in on own. You may not be interested in climbing

Day Five - Thursday, August 30
Breakfast included. Depart south today. Arrive at Spicer Orchards,
Fenton, MI. Staff will direct the group to your tractor led wagon ride through the
orchards. Either Mrs. Spicer or the tractor driver will talk a bit about the orchards
and the farm while on tour. Back at the market area, everyone will enjoy included
cider and donut. Then free time to visit the barn, shop in the market. August
is blueberry season. There is also a winery on site, some may want to visit here.
Check into your Chelsea MI Comfort Inn Indoor pool, whirlpool, & fitness
center … Dinner included this evening in Chelsea MI at Common Grill.
Day Six - Friday, August 31
Depart for home with wonderful memories of this beautiful part of our country!

original home of "Jiffy Mix" - see the video, sample some products and walk
through the packaging plant led by tour hosts. See how their mixes are made and
packaged for corn bread, muffins, pizza dough-and the original Jiffy Mix recipe.
Tour guests will receive a complimentary gift bag. Free time after to check out
the products for sale in the tour reception area.
